The huge Main Lagoon of Ilha do Guajiú, measuring 4000 x 400 meters, is appreciated for it's massive, superflat water and is often nicknamed "THE FLATWATERSEA". Moreover there are very good winds, making it an ideal place for kitesurfing.
The Guajirú Kite Safari pousada is close to the "Secret Spot". At the Secret Spot (and Praia do Guajirú) where the Lagoon meets the ocean, you'll find butter flat water and perfect waves in one place!
- You'll only find white, sandy beach with no rocks or obstacles anywhere, allowing you easy, comfortable and safe access into the Lagoon´s crystal clear turquoise blue waters!
- There's wind EVERYDAY! Mostly from 15 to 25 knots, side shore and completely steady - a wish of both beginners and advanced kiteboarders!
- What kite to bring? Most of the time, depending on your weight, you will end up using a 7 or a 10 m² kite.
- Don't want to bring your own kite? No problem, you can rent them over here.
- For newbies and beginners there are 4 kiteschools on Ilha do Guajirú. Lessons can be taught 1-to-1 or in small groups.
